TV5 Transformers ROTF Screening at Greenbelt 3

Found a prize under my seat!

Watched Transformers for the second time around after a meeting in Makati. The Transformers boys were all present together with 20 TV5 bloggers.

I think I enjoyed this screening better because of the free Holy Kettle Corn and Pepsi Max, yey! :)

Before the screening, everyone met outside the cinema and Ryan shared to us her pizza donuts. One by one, the bloggers came and lined up to watch robots brawl with each other.

It was another 2 hours and 30 minutes inside the cinema but I missed the part where Optimus Prime's wife appeared ;)

By the way, I am blogging from SM City Bacoor. Yes! the mall right in front of our house is now a WiFi hotspot.

Ink Heart

Excuse me for updating my blog 3 times today :) In an effort to distract myself, I watched a movie with Joni, Vincent, and Liza called Inkheart. I wanted to catch this flick on the big screen but some people said it was boring and was nothing like The Mummy. It starred Brendan Frasier.

If I were a kid then I'll give it 5 stars. Books were plenty in the movie which I loved, characters came out of the books, and people can also be sucked inside the stories. If I were to be sucked inside a book then that book should be... hmm... the book of the four gods? But then, the seven warriors including Tamahome, might offer(feed) me to the Suzaku.

Anyway, I was so much inspired to write and at this point I cannot seem to do anything else but write. Amazing how words on paper can stir up emotions, bring you back to the past, and let you create a world of your own.

I am so inspired or sick, that I am thinking of writing my own book. So I just started to test myself out by creating another blog (shoot me). Before I turn this blog into a novel, I am now going to force myself to sleep. Good night wherever you are.

Writer's Block

It's 12.46 AM and we just got home an hour ago from a movie premiere - Taken. I highly recommend it to teenagers who don't follow their parents and travelers who are too complacent and excited, both may end up being kidnapped. Better watch the movie :p

with lots of blogger friends!!!

Moreover, today I bought a new purple dress that I am excited to wear. I feel like it has been ages since I posed with a decent outfit for the style blog. This week is slow since I opted to stay at home but it's only Wednesday now and there's more to do, eat, attend, and visit on Thursday and Friday. Definitely wearing the new purple dress on Thursday :)

I am trying to unblock the writer's block now but I feel I'll be able to write sensibly later on this morning. blah blah blah

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

First movie event for 2009, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button movie premiere and lovely cocktails at the Gateway Cineplex.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The hors d'oeuvres were perfect to prepare guests for the 3 hour movie. 3 hours of Brad Pitt and 3 hours of amazing cinematography. Throughout the movie, I felt like I was staring at a renaissance painting. The costumes, the set, and the words used were all works of art.

The Curious Case of Benjamin ButtonThe Curious Case of Benjamin ButtonThe Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Curious Case of Benjamin ButtonThe Curious Case of Benjamin ButtonThe Curious Case of Benjamin Button

The way they transformed Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchet as they were aging is amazing, this made me curious after all. I wouldn't mind growing old like Cate Blanchett does. Yet, in the movie, Brad Pitt aka Benjamin Button faces a great ordeal on how to live a normal life.

Based on a book by F. Scott Fitzgerald, expect no less than mental stimulation. The movie left me thinking about Benjamin's challenging fate while making me reflect on my own age and life as well. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is a movie about aging, a reality and challenge that each of us face. The question is, how are you going to live your life and when are the best years of your life. At which point or age did you consider yourself perfect?

Honestly, I had mental overload after the movie. I am a thinking person and I could just feel my brain cells throbbing as I walked home. The issue on age, the jokes and stereotypes surrounding it are an everyday thing. Yet, each person knows deep in their hearts that age is just a number - unlike love or passion that stays for many years.

If you've reached this part then smart ones, watch The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Be sure to bring your smartest date for an ultimate intelligent discourse when the curtain rolls down.

Special thanks to Warner Brothers for another remarkable screening :)

Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia Premiere Night

I brought my nephew Jacko with me to the red carpet screening of Dayo sa Mundo ng Elementalia. It is an animated film that is 100% Pinoy, an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival.

The image “http://images.popazrael.multiply.com/image/2/photos/655/500x500/7/CIMG4474.jpg?et=oy4vmRB%2ClqFaU%2CX9iXPWOA&nmid=150506569” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

What I love about premiere nights are the activities, contests, and freebies that one can experience aside from being one of the firsts to see the movie. Jacko enjoyed the movie very much and so did I. The movie is a perfect reflection of today's culture and each of the characters had their own distinct personalities.

After the movie and after two tubs of popcorn (Jacko ate them all), we met the stars or voices behind the movie Dayo.

Here's us with Hopia who played Hannah and with Nash, who played Buboy. These kiddie stars can be seen in the hit TV show, Going Bulilit. We also met the Director, Robert Quilao.

Jacko and I walked along the cinema halls where he was able to try drawing a dinosaur using a wacom tablet. We also got several tokens and freebies from sponsors that greeted the viewers upon exit. Free tender juicy hotdogs, Fruitees, Ceelin pouch bag, Dayo calendars, Dayo poster, and Dayo stickers. The kids loved it!

The premiere night of Dayo was awesome and it was a great experience to kids of all ages. Good luck and congratulations to the people behind Dayo :) Surely, the Filipino can fly!

After the movie, we all felt like Elementary students and had a photo op with Winnie the Pooh :)

Spying Over Burn After Reading

After reading this post, you would like to see Brad Pitt and George Clooney too! Their chemistry in Ocean's 11, 12, and 13 are funny, smart and sexy. It's the perfect combination for a great night out at the movies.

Usually, I end up watching kiddie, sci-fi and other geeky movies that my partner loves. With George and Brad in their latest movie, Burn After Reading, I can finally see a movie that would meet my expectations again just like Ocean's Eleven. Brains plus sexy men makes a good plot!

The first time I saw their movie poster was last Monday when I watched Madagascar 2. I'm really surprised that this duo stars in a new flick. Would they be seamless on screen or would they compete for the spotlight the entire movie?

That's for us to find out! :)

The Center of the Earth

Just got home from my weekend movie - Journey to the Center of the Earth and it's awesome and exciting. It will take you to another world where you can see luminous birds and huge fossilized mushrooms!

I thought my weekend was hopeless but thank you Brendan Frasier for making me laugh and giving me a great time.

It's worth watching and it's also available in iMax for those who have extra to spare. I only watched it in the regular theatre but the experience is enough to propel me to another work week.

And guess who I bumped into lining up at the cinemas? Jollibee! and Jollibee never fails to make me laugh and smile everytime.

I'll Watch Monster Mom!

It's Saturday and I woke up at 11:00 am, we have a new Siamese cat that my mom got from the neighbor. That means everyone is crazed and at times, too noisy because of kitten matters.

I didn't have work today too and I am finding it pretty noisy today in my house. There's a local movie that is sure to make me laugh and I guess I'll just walk to the mall and watch it.

I'm talking about Monster Mom! Yes, of Ruffa Gutierrez and her mom Anna Belle Rama :)

Just watching the trailer makes me laugh already! Can't wait to see the movie.

Mixed Stuff from Friday and Saturday

Yesterday (Friday) I finally watched Sex and the City movie by myself and I seriously enjoyed the whole film while munching on KFC Zinger and fries. Yummy!

The film was oozing with designer clothes and bags. I hope there's a sequel to this film so I can enjoy watching them again.

After the movie, as my partner was still busy hustling for his event, I walked again back to Pearl Drive to get my third massage for the week. I go to Green Spa and they are open until 2am. I had to walk there since all spa inside the mall are closed.

I met Azrael and friends at Starbucks and ended up at home around 12:00 in the morning.

That was Friday and today (Saturday) was chaos.

I could not reach Kuya Bernard's (our beloved driver) mobile phone and I was standing in front of my building forever. I was in panic I called my auntie Yeyey and we did not know what to do so I just went to the mall and rode the bus. It was very hot so I armed myself with my favorite fruit shake combo - Mango and Melon.

Mango and Melon shake is heavenly, it's next to a massage that can lift you up from stress and stiffness.

Time to rest and unwind - happy weekend everyone!

Meet my Car - Speed Racer

The image “http://images.popazrael.multiply.com/image/2/photos/395/500x500/1/P5300001.JPG?et=MGsTNsTvc4oomZmVIgFQGA&nmid=98844117” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Taken at Mall of Asia last week. Today I set a new time record, I was at home before 7:00PM and my mom was beaming when she saw me getting off the tricycle.

If I had this car or had the guts to drive in EDSA, maybe i'll be home before 6:00PM.

It was great to see the Mach 5, we thought it was a real car but it was just a fiber glass replica. Things like these make you feel bright in a snap :)

Cloverfield monster and me

Make that Cloverfield poster and me.

http://images.popazrael.multiply.com/image/3/photos/273/500x500/6/P1290012.JPG?et=w7jSo3TQb7UjBSZClRY5Sw&nmid=79816034
oh no, still have to wake up early tomorrow!

I had a great time last night watching this one of a kind movie with Azrael. Thanks to Getzmo.com for letting Az win their Cloverfield promo haha :) Although I barely had time to sleep since I got home at 11.30pm, the movie was worth it.

The people behind us was a bit noisy and overreacting (OA) that the movie was too shaky and makes them feel dizzy. But of course, in the spirit of fun, watching movies in the Philippines with those side comments is also an experience.

Very much recommended to get you out of the doldrums, watch this movie and you'll feel alive and kicking again haha :) This will make you realize that physical fitness is necessary to survive, how fast can you run and can you whack monsters etc.

The movie was so great that we imitated it right away, ahaha. We fooled around with a camera after the movie, and at 11pm we had our own imaginary Cloverfield video.

Cloverfield in Manila

Woot! Another worthwhile distraction is coming and it's no less than the Cloverfield monster. On January 30, Wednesday, be sure to bring your movie budget and call your date - it's the regular screening of Cloverfield in Manila. Woohoo! I'm so excited, like there's no tomorrow.

I'll probably watch at Shangrila or my neighbor, SM so I can drag myself to bed on time after the flick. Not sure if IMAX will show Cloverfield but that screen is too big that we might get motion sick from the movie.

Don't you just love movies? What's life without movies? Love it.

Confessions of a Shopaholic Movie Update

Sophie Kinsella fans, heads up! Last year, we already knew who would play Becky Bloomwood from our beloved Shopaholic book series (Isla Fisher). I can already imagine her in a shopping cart frenzy as a gambler would be crazy about slots machines. Curious on who is playing Luke Brandon? Let's settle on who would play Philip first:

Just looking at the photo, I guess Hugh Dancy does fit the character of Luke more. All made up in a crisp business suit, ruffled hair, blue eyes - I can't hardly wait for the movie (and who is going to play Luke!).

Confessions of a Shopaholic is under Jerry Bruckheimer and I read it's also a Disney film. I hope it does show on 2008 and please start filming it already :)

Nice movies coming our way, also look out for Sex and the City - The Movie.

* Thanks to Josephine for the correction, I thought Dancy would play Luke >.<

Saffron Sauce and Pinot Noir, anyone?

The movie No Reservations made my taste buds sweat. Starring sultry actress, Catherine-Zeta Jones, her character makes gourmet food more enticing. I can't help but compare the movie to Ratatouille where the plot also revolved around the kitchen, secret recipes, and magical ingredients. In No Reservations, Saffron Sauce was a star and the Pinot Noir from Adelaide, Australia was also mentioned. Saffron Sauce reminds me of the saffron here in the Philippines which is rather cheap and easy to find. It can be easily bought in markets and is known locally as "Kasubha". Buy lugaw or rice porridge in Manila and the vendors will generously sprinkle saffron on your dish.

Aaron Eckhart, who was excessively charming in the movie with his immaculately white apron, made me wish I had my own sous chef. Story wise, it's simple and realistic except for the shrink part. I suggest watching it with someone who has the gusto for fine dining and creativity in the kitchen. Passionate people will easily relate to Kate's scenes like how she almost kills customers who shoddily complain about her dishes and how she feared change.

I enjoyed the movie so much that it nudged me to cook dinner. A definite must-see for someone who has the ardor to experiment in the kitchen and taste-test life's surprising dishes.

The Seeker read the Book!

Mariel and I watched a funny movie yesterday, The Seeker. I tried hard to keep watching and stopped myself from going to sleep. Our favorite line is "I am a seventh son of a seventh son, I am the Seeker, I read the book!" - i almost fell off my seat! Will, the main character is a gorgeous kid though and I believe kids will love this movie which has a simple story line, light versus dark.

The Manila Comics Seminar was also ongoing yesterday, instead of helping my boyfriend, i spent the whole day with Mariel. From the cinema, we found ourselves in a karaoke room singing hopelessly romantic songs. Somewhere down the Road by Barry Manilow is my favorite song to sing! it's so corny though :)

Then to my surprise, the videoke machine showed Kim Ah Joong's music video where she was a mermaid. She's jaw dropping gorgeous, luckily i found the same video on YouTube.

My date with Mariel lasted until 10.30pm, i had a great time hanging out with her. I look forward to seeing more of my friends soon.

The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic MOVIE

Yes! the books we were all reading from Sophie Kinsella will now be turned into movies! This is very exciting, we will finally see Rebecca Bloomwood and Luke on the big screen. Are you curious what they are going to look like? Well, here is Isla Fisher as Becky:

I have no news yet about who is going to play Luke. But I was always imagining him as the Luke in Charmed, the one who plays doctor in Nip/Tuck :) The movie will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and shooting will start on November. Finish up quickly guys! and goodluck :)

Pretty Woman and new job *grin*

Everyday I sleep at 2am so last night i got lucky to have something to watch on TV. Pretty Woman was being shown in one of the local channels. I used to watch this with my sister Joni, but i wasn't that old yet and didn't pay much attention but i did get the story.

Last night, i savored each line, cheesy but dreamy. you know, this stuff happens only in movies and sometimes, it feels nice to submerge yourself in this fantasy where Julia Roberts is a hooker and Richard Gere billionaire saves her and turns her life around. ahhhhh... happy valentines! i was eating ice cream while it was being shown and i love the experience. me and myself only, dreaming and hoping i can be Vivienne in that movie ahahaha. Pretty Woman is such an unbelievably romantic flick but after the movie you feel bad because it's not real.

I am in PMS hell last night too and slept at 4.30 in the morning. But yin yang again, i finally got a call today and yey! i have a new job ^____^ i almost fainted when i answered my cellphone while i was watching Ugly Betty. now i am excited, nervous, and scared --->

so there, i hope everyone gets a good night and enjoy the rest of today ^.^ i'm now downloading MORE ugly betty episodes and have a marathon with icecream again.
